Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was a bilingual since the age nine years old, a valuable ability that allowed her to secure her first job as a production assistant with Univision in Miami and gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of national programming like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. In the following years, it was the CBS station that is located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. She also worked as a journalist with KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. In addition to reporting on issues related to immigration and drug trafficking from both sides the border with Mexico. She worked as a reporter on the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of nine p.m. newscast, which was in English as well as another reporter for the 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. It was not uncommon for her to be an anchor for weather and sports. In the end, she was appointed anchor and reporter of Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her higher responsibilities. She also did segments on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She was promoted as anchor of sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The anchor also worked as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto, a magazine show that was broadcast on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. They eventually moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. Also, she has a sibling. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico in search of the US and settled in Miami. They divorced soon following and in the year 1995, she married a naval designer called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 due to kidney cancer. Her residence was at Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime, where she had been offered an opportunity to work. Antonietta she was a high school senior having a clear idea of where she wanted her life to be like, visited Mount Union University to determine whether the university was suitable for her. The campus was a dream for her. It also gave her the major that she desired. Her studies were completed and she received a scholarship to the University for a master's degree in media studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was member of her class, developed a lasting relationship with the student. He inspired her to be self-confident and his passion for journalism was deeply affecting her as did she. She determined to meet his expectations, and to never failed him.
